BAS Technician

Job Summary

The Building Automation System Lead Technician will provide service repairs and preventative maintenance procedures to HVAC control systems including controllers, networks and peripheral devices. This individual will provide direct customer support during the initial installation, programming, and subsequent maintenance of any BAS system contracted to DarkNet Communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees performance of personnel assigned to the project to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed
  • Troubleshoot complex control systems
  • Understand and troubleshoot system programming
  • Understand basic networking and secondary network functions (i.e. RS485, RS232, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Communicate with customers and convey issues in a clear manner
  • Field Engineering/troubleshooting

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:
    Four years or more of experience in service, commissioning, startup or supervising the installation of Building Automation Systems. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

  • Candidate will be required to interact with customer staff including: management, operations, control, planning, engineering and others during sales assists and project execution
  • Electrical troubleshooting techniques
  • Understand basic HVAC equipment functions
  • Workstation skills
  • Programming comprehension
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints

    Work Environment:
    This employee will be working in the field interacting with other DarkNet Communications and subcontract personnel. Able to work sitting or standing for extended periods. Able to operate a computer via standard input devices such as using a keyboard and reading information on a monitor.
