We seek a RF Engineer to serve as a lead technical resource for the engineering design and system performance of GSM Radio Network. Responsibilities include: Apply engineering principles to design and optimize network coverage, performance and capacity. Apply advanced radio frequency (RF) propagation principles, cellular theory, RF Engineering tools and antenna theory. Perform in-depth analysis of new features and technologies. Serve as a contributor and technical subject matter expert on optimizing Ericsson GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks and emerging technology theory and tools, including OSS, CNA, and Ericsson statistical counters and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Apply in-depth understanding of GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks, RF theory, and telecommunications systems. Lead responsibilities in the application of RF principles in coverage, capacity, and performance planning. Oversee drive testing and drive data analysis. Use propagation tool, Asset. Participate with federal, state and local jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and zoning compliance. Prepare FCC and FAA filings. Lead the development, testing, and validation of RF feature plan proposals. Define implementation guidelines for approved new features and technologies. Serve as a lead resource for the advanced monitoring and review of GSM/GPRS/EDGE Ericsson network KPI. Develop processes and strategic approaches to improve network performance. Serve as a subject matter expert in Ericsson BTS hardware diagnostics, interference, data throughput, coverage and transmission path performance issues and develop action plan for resolution. Provide engineering support to Sales / Customers by responding to customer and employee complaints. Advise management on tactical and strategic issues.
